Product Description
Yiddish America is a wonderful collection of Yiddish and Klezmer songs played in the New York and Philadelphia Klezmer style. The vocal selections include all-time favorite Yiddish songs: Rumania Rumania, Belz, Bai Mir Bistu Shen, Shen vi Di LaVone, Abi Gezunt, and Ale Brider, all wonderfully sung by Renah Wolzinger and David Gilman. The Klezmer songs are the best of the "dance" tunes, full of energy and excitement. Yiddish America would make a great addition to any Jewish music collection.

About the Artist
South Coast Simcha Band www.scsimchaband.com The South Coast Simcha Band is led by Renah Wolzinger, who is a college instructor in Digital Music Recording, as well as a member of the ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), and NARAS (the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. She is one of the premier Clarinet players in the Klezmer style today. In addition to performing and teaching, Renah owns a recording studio and a record label, and produces award winning music in the areas of Klezmer, Yiddish, and Children's exercise and educational genres. The South Coast Simcha Band first formed 15 years ago, when several of its members met and played together in an Orange County Jewish Orchestra. Renah Wolzinger, the musical director of the Simcha Band, had been playing Klezmer since college, where her clarinet instructor was coincidentally in a Klezmer band in San Diego. She married a trumpet player, who was also interested in discovering Klezmer music. A band was formed, and the members began listening and collecting music. The band strives to expose new audiences to this wonderful genre. The instrumentation in the Simcha Band represents the New York Klezmer style of the mid 1900’s. This includes Renah Wolzinger -clarinet/vocals, Keith Wolzinger-trumpet/flugelhorn, Shohei Urata-violin/alto sax, David Gilman-tenor sax/vocals, Aaron Kern - keyboard, Alan Levin - bass guitar/ acoustic guitar, Steve Chattler - drums/percussion. The band has released 3 CD’s - Classic American Klezmer, and Klezmer Coast to Coast, and Yiddish America
